Face Mask Friday | Montagne Jeunesse Honey & Cream

MONTAGNE JEUNESSE SKIN POLISHER HONEY & CREAM FACE MASK: FULL SIZE £1.00

#angellec makeup fmf

This actually isn’t a full review as unfortunately I think I’m allergic! While I’ve never reacted to a product before I don’t think after about a minute of putting this on my face started burning! I’m the first to love a bit of tingling when it comes to face masks as I think that shows it’s working but this properly burned.

I just thought this was very worth mentioning as I’ve never had a reaction to any product before, let alone something from Montagne Jeunesse. It’s a shame as I really thought I’d love this mask, it smelt delicious and their ‘skin polisher’ range is one of my favourites.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION BAKED MERGED EYESHADOW in LIMITLESS: £1.50

Ahh Makeup Revolution how I love thee. The new (and in my opinion, better) MUA on the block, Makeup Revolution are the budget beauty-ers extraordinaire.

Swatches speak louder than words and as you can see above these eyeshadows are shouting pretty loudly. Galactic and Limitless are two stunning shades, Limitless being more coppery in tone than it’s sister but both super-pigmented and shimmery. Seriously, for £1.50 each what more do you want?

Overall, would I repurchase?

Errr….yes! I’ve already ordered Blue Planet and I’m sure I’ll complete my collection.

L’Oreal So Couture Eyeliner

L’OREAL SO COUTURE EYELINER: ???

love this liner. Love. Truly. Madly. Deeply.

There’s just one problem.

Where the heck do I buy it?!

I got this when I bought the L’Oreal So Coture Volume Millions mascara, although I wasn’t particularly excited about it. How wrong was I! It is gorgeous. I think the reason I love it so much is while on first sight it is just a normal felt-tip pen style liner it is actually a brush. Think the brush style watercolour paint pens you used to lust after when you were 9. Now imagine them as a teeny tiny super soft super tiny eyeliner. Yeah? You got it? You feelin’ it? Yes. I know. Heaven.

So, you cry, where can I get me some? Well that’s the problem. Nobody seems to sell this little bugger. I doubt L’Oreal would design a whole new product just to give away for free with a mascara…would they? I really, really hope not.

Overall, would I repurchase?

I swear if I ever find this I will panic buy at least three. I adore them. I’ve even contemplated emailing L’Oreal to try and find an answer which I’m probably going to end up doing.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter

MUA UNDRESS YOUR SKIN HIGHLIGHTING POWDER: £3.00

Okay everyone. Deep breath. Let’s take a moment.

How beautiful is this?

This highlighter seriously reminds me of Mac’s Alluring Aquatic collection except for literally a tenth of the price. To be honest I think I’d have just happily bought this to stare at it, but of course I’m not that materialistic (*cough* I so am *cough*). I’m pleased to report back that it is a lovely, soft, shimmery highlight, not too glittery and the peach tone works great on my warm skin tone. The pigment isn’t remarkable but I’m glad as with a highlight it’s all too easy to go overboard and become human silverware.

Overall, would I repurchase?

It’s a yes from price. Another yes from packaging. Yet one more from product quality. And most certainly a yes from me – take a seat in my makeup bag MUA highlighter!

Mani Monday | Revlon Super Powered

REVLON ELECTRIC CHROME NAIL POLISH in SUPER POWERED: £6.49

#angellec makeup mani monday

Revlon Electric Chrome in Super Powered

Number of coats needed: 2

Days gone without chipping: 3

Colour: One of my favourite nail polishes when I want to look like I’ve slaved for hours putting metallic nail foils on. Despite the slightly messy swatch (sorry I was rushing!) it is the most beautiful shade.

Was it ‘electric chrome’? Yes! It’s at times like this I wish I knew how to make gifs as I could have done one of it flashing in the sunlight.

Overall score? 5/5

Face Mask Friday | Montagne Jeunesse Amore Rose

MONTAGNE JEUNESSE AMORE ROSE FACE MAKS: FULL SIZE £1.00

#angellec makeup fmf

Rose is a funny ol’ thing with me. Sometimes I love the scent of it and other times I can’t stand it (although I always hate the taste!). Luckily this ticks all my floral scent requirement boxes – sweet, delicate and it doesn’t smell like the drawer pillows your grandparents have. Top marks MJ!

This is meant to be one of Montagne Jeunesse’ more moisturising masks and it’s a cream formula which I didn’t expect to set, especially as I applied this in the bath. It did set and though this doesn’t bother me, it might be worth noting if you tend to opt for cream face mask formulas as opposed to clay because you hate the tight feeling the latter gives when it sets.

Amore Rose left my skin feeling quite soft and refreshed although unfortunately not much more. To be honest it’s probably more suited to normal/sensitive skin than combination like mine.

Overall, would I repurchase?

Probably not, but as I mentioned above this is probably more to do with my skin type than anything.

Summer Rewind

Entering October means we are now firmly in Autumn territory, so I thought I’d take a look back at my favourite season of the year.

Makeup Revolution:

One of my favourite brands of the summer, Makeup Revolution are the new super-budget rival for MUA but in my opinion they’re just a ‘lil bit better. They’ve been criticised for copying MUA and to some extent they have, but the release of their I Heart Makeup range has really let them come in to their own.

The loss of Natural Collection:

Natural Collection, one of my favourite brands and creator of one of my all-time favourite scents, their Vanilla Body Spray, has been discontinued. I’m still mourning them, and the fact that that particular body spray has been selling for up to £20 a bottle on eBay. C’mon Boots, surely that’s enough to show you we still love it!

Rekindling my Body Shop flame:

I’ve always liked the Body Shop but it’s only recently I’ve got back in to it. That may or may not have had a lot to do with their two gorgeous summer ranges – Early Harvest Raspberry and Vineyard Peach. Yum!

Bright Ombre:

Ah the joys of semi-permanent hair dyes. This summer my hair has essentially been a walking (or should that be swishing?) Skittles advert, and I’ve been everything from pink to purple to blue, green, magenta, peach, and a questionable combination of them all!

The Great British Bake Off:

Who doesn’t love Bake Off? Me and my Mum have watched it from series one and it’s still just as good, maybe even a bit better (is that even possible?)… The final is on tonight, 8pm on BBC1 – I’m on team Luis!

L’Oreal So Couture Volume Million Lashes

L’OREAL PARIS SO COUTURE VOLUME MILLION LASHES MASCARA: £10.99

I mentioned this in my September Favourites video but realised I hadn’t actually done a full review yet. So here we go!

The first thing I noticed about this is actually something very odd that you don’t expect to notice in a mascara – it was the smell. It smells like….chocolate? Or cocoa butter? It’s very very odd and I can actually smell it on my eyes when I’m waring it. I don’t particularly dislike it and it isn’t a deal breaker for me but it is just…odd. Worth mentioning if you have sensitive eyes actually as it might aggravate them.

As for the actual mascara? You can probably guess from it being in my September favourites that I like it. And I really do love it. The brush is soft, flexible and quite thin so you can apply it on top of your top lashes (if that makes any sense) without it hitting your eyelid.

I haven’t actually got any before and after shots for you (oops, sorry) but I’m doing a tutorial with this and the So Couture eyeliner soon so hopefully you’ll be able to see just how good it is with that.

Overall, would I repurchase?

Yup! The original Volume Million Lashes is one of if not my favourite drugstore mascaras and this is a great addition to the line.

No7 Glitter Nail Effects in Sun Rays

Number of coats needed: 1 (as a topcoat)

Days gone without chipping: 3

Colour: Stunning, dense, gold multi-sized glitter.

Was it ‘glitter effects’? Definitely – a chunky super sparkly glitz fest.

Overall score? 3/5 (I absolutely adore the colour and polish, but I have to knock two whole points off because of how difficult it is to get off! Complete nightmare and it actually puts me off wearing it because I know it will take me excessive amounts of time to work it off)
